1. Natural Finishes

Natural finishes in the kitchen and home are a growing trend for 2020.  As more and more homeowners are looking to sustainable materials when decorating their home they are being drawn to reclaimed wood, concrete, and natural stone to create a earthiness feel.  A great way to bring these materials into your kitchen is through countertops and floors, as pictured about.  But, if you are searching for a more budget friendly kitchen upgrade then use these materials for the dining table, seating, and accessories.  As pictured below this great reclaimed wood dining table gives a warm earthy feel to the space and the concrete floors keeps the room  light and open creating a sense of balance and harmony.

2. Pops of Color

Another exciting trend for kitchens in the new year is the bright pops of color accented throughout the space.  Whether it's richly painted walls or bold cabinets the space will feel exciting and personal.  But, if your not ready for such a dramatic upgrade then introduce the pops of color in subtle ways.  Maybe some bright blue canisters to sit on the counters or shelves.  Or, a bold piece of artwork to grace your walls.   Don't be afraid to add the little pops of color to your clean white kitchen, it could be a much needed refresh.

3. Design Forward Backsplashes

The last big trend in kitchen design for 2020 is design forward backsplashes.  Homeowners are looking to add more interest to their backsplashes so they are choosing patterned tiles to accent their space.  And, others are gravitating towards colorful tiles installed in interesting patterns.   Either route makes a dramatic impact especially against white cabinets and countertops.

I’m trying to decide what I should do for my kitchen design. It makes sense that I would want to look at some popular trends! Maybe I should invest in some quartz things, like countertops. It’s always been a great, stylish material to use!
